Order Your Repeat Prescription Online
It is easiest to order repeat prescriptions via the NHS app, which may be accessed on an Android or iOS phone or tablet, or in a web browser. You may also order repeat prescriptions using the PatientAccess system.
Instructions on how to register or use this, and to download the mobile version can be found at https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/online-services/nhs-app/.
The web version is available at https://www.nhsapp.service.nhs.uk/login.
The iPhone and iPad version may be downloaded from the Apple App Store or from Google Play using the links below.
It is also possible to order repeat prescriptions using the PatientAccess system. Full details of how to use this system are found here. It is also possible to download the PatientAccess apps from Google Play and the Apple App Store by clicking on the links below.
In the event that you are unable to use the NHS app or website, or PatientAccess, it is also possible to order repeat prescriptions directly from the practice using the e-mail address firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include the name and dose of the medication you require as well as your full name and date of birth.
We can no longer accept prescriptions on paper through our letterbox. Please ensure you nominate your pharmacy as prescriptions cannot be collected from the practice whilst current social distancing and other restrictions are in place.
Please allow 72 hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. If you experience any problems please telephone the surgery.
The wording in this acknowledgement email sent automatically by our website providers may suggest your request has been approved; for practice purposes please see this as an acknowledgement that your request has been received only.
Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).
The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wale’s prescriptions are free of charge.
Prescription (per item): £9.15
12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £105.90
3-month PPC: £29.65
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 15 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
